Use of FED-LOGIN
Please note that within the federal network you are usually logged in automatically via the login method «Active Directory Single Sign-On (Kerberos)» with FED-LOGIN. In this case, no selection of login methods is displayed, as authentication via smartcard has already been performed beforehand on your workstation.

There are two exceptions to this rule:

  1. The application requires a higher authentication level than can be achieved with Kerberos authentication.
  2. You have disabled automatic login via a cookie on the Autologon cookie page.[:o:]

In both cases, all FED-LOGIN login methods are available to you.

Using FED-LOGIN with smartcard
Using FED-LOGIN with smartcard is only required in the following cases:

  1. Access from the Internet without previously registering an alternative FED-LOGIN login method. In this case, the smartcard remains the only option.
  2. The application requires a high authentication level that can only be achieved using a smartcard.[:o:]

Using FED-LOGIN without using a smartcard
You have a smartcard and would like to use your FED-LOGIN outside the federal network with any device without using the smartcard?
