FED-LOGIN – Use Without Smartcard
(for Smartcard holders)
Added Value for End Users
Expand your FED-LOGIN options. Once you have registered the FED-LOGIN Access App and/or security key (FIDO2), you can use your FED-LOGIN outside the federal network with private devices and without your smartcard. We recommend using the FED-LOGIN Access App and/or a security key.
These are secure and very user-friendly passwordless login methods. They meet high authentication quality standards (QoA50). Please note that password-based login methods will no longer be supported in FED-LOGIN in the long term.
Registering the FED-LOGIN Access App
With the FED-LOGIN Access App on your smartphone, you can log in by scanning a QR code shown in the web browser, or directly if the web browser of your mobile device is used. You can download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). In order to install the FED-LOGIN Access App, please observe the operating system and technical requirements available at: FED-LOGIN Access Systèmes d’exploitation et exigences techniquesLink to instruction: FED-LOGIN - Register the Access App
Registering Security Keys
In addition to or instead of the Access App, you may register up to four physical security keys (FIDO2). This is helpful in cases where smartphones are not desired, not technically possible, or not allowed.Link to instruction: FED-LOGIN - Register a security key (FIDO2)
